A Safe and Gentle Space for Families
Our chapels are more than buildings — they are places of reassurance. When a loved one comes into our care, we ensure that they are looked after with dignity and respect at all times. Families can rest assured that their loved one will remain under our supervision, never outsourced, and always treated with compassion.
Each chapel across London, Surrey and Berkshire has been carefully designed to offer a quiet environment for reflection, with comfortable surroundings and private space available for those who wish to spend time with their loved one.
At Lodge Brothers, we understand that these moments matter — and we are here to support you throughout.
Our Heritage of Care
We have served families since 1780, and over that time we have learned that a chapel is more than a practical space — it is often the beginning of the healing process.
It is a quiet moment.
A chance to pause.
The first step in saying goodbye.
Our chapels reflect this understanding. They are respectful, private and maintained to the highest standards, overseen by staff who take personal pride in the care they provide.
Today, as an Employee-Owned company, that sense of responsibility is even stronger. Every member of staff helps uphold the values that began over 240 years ago.
Visiting the Chapel of Rest
Families are welcome to spend time with their loved one, should they wish to do so. Visits are arranged by appointment to ensure privacy and adequate time.
When arranging a funeral, we will discuss whether a Chapel of Rest visit is appropriate and guide you gently through the steps involved. There is no pressure — the decision is entirely personal.
We are here to explain, reassure, and support in whatever way feels right for you.
At Your Side — One Step at a Time
If you are at the beginning of arranging a funeral and unsure what to do next, our Guidance pages provide step-by-step information in plain language, available at any time of day.
