A Safe and Gentle Space for Families

Our chapels are more than buildings — they are places of reassurance. When a loved one comes into our care, we ensure that they are looked after with dignity and respect at all times. Families can rest assured that their loved one will remain under our supervision, never outsourced, and always treated with compassion.

Each chapel across London, Surrey and Berkshire has been carefully designed to offer a quiet environment for reflection, with comfortable surroundings and private space available for those who wish to spend time with their loved one.

At Lodge Brothers, we understand that these moments matter — and we are here to support you throughout.

Continuity of Care — In Our Own Hands

From the moment we are called, every step is handled by Lodge Brothers.
Care is never transferred, and standards are never compromised.

We provide:

  • A safe and secure environment for your loved one

  • A Chapel of Rest for private visits (by appointment)

  • Local teams who supervise all care personally

  • Consistent standards across all 47 chapels

  • Guidance and support whenever you need it

Families often tell us that knowing their loved one is close by — and still in our care — brings comfort during a difficult time. We take that responsibility seriously.

Our Heritage of Care

We have served families since 1780, and over that time we have learned that a chapel is more than a practical space — it is often the beginning of the healing process.

It is a quiet moment.

A chance to pause.

The first step in saying goodbye.

Our chapels reflect this understanding. They are respectful, private and maintained to the highest standards, overseen by staff who take personal pride in the care they provide.

Today, as an Employee-Owned company, that sense of responsibility is even stronger. Every member of staff helps uphold the values that began over 240 years ago.

Find a Chapel Near You

We have more than 47 chapels and branches across London, Surrey and Berkshire. Each one is part of its local community and supported by a team who understand the area — and the families who live there.

You can visit or contact any branch directly, or call us 24 hours a day for guidance.

Visiting the Chapel of Rest

Families are welcome to spend time with their loved one, should they wish to do so. Visits are arranged by appointment to ensure privacy and adequate time.
When arranging a funeral, we will discuss whether a Chapel of Rest visit is appropriate and guide you gently through the steps involved. There is no pressure — the decision is entirely personal.

We are here to explain, reassure, and support in whatever way feels right for you.

Every chapel in our network shares the same ethos:

To offer real care, respectfully, professionally and personally.
We believe that funeral care should be in the hands of people who understand its importance.

That is why we remain independent.

That is why we work within local communities.

And that is why your loved one stays under our care — from beginning to end.
