Director

Sophie joined Lodge Brothers as Head of Legal Services in 2016 to develop and set up its legal services business. Lodge Brothers Legal Services is a separate company, which has been granted a licence by the Solicitors Regulation. Authority, allowing Lodge Brothers Legal Services to provide professional Legal Services to its clients through its own legal team.

Sophie grew up in Surrey and studied law at University College London and the College of Law in Guildford qualifying as a Solicitor in 1997. Having trained at a leading Private Client Firm, Charles Russell, Sophie has specialised in Wills, Probate and Powers of Attorney and now has over 15 years of experience in these areas.

Sophie spends most of her time dealing with estates and has helped hundreds of families obtain Grant of Probate since setting up Lodge Brothers Legal Services. Sophie has responsibility for the overall supervision of the work carried out by our team. She is an affiliate member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and holds the Advanced Certificate in Will Preparation (passing with a distinction).

Sophie lives in Surrey with her husband and three children.

Helen qualified as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in 2008 and previously worked in the Thames Valley Area. Helen specialises in Wills, trusts, estate planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney and has vast experience in all aspects of Probate, Intestacy and the Administration of Estates. Helen is a full member of STEP and an accredited member of the Association of Lifetime Lawyers. Helen prides herself on providing her clients a great deal of support when sometimes circumstances can be difficult for them.

Helen is a mum to two energetic boys and loves chocolate!

Marie-Claire obtained a Law and German degree in 2004 and qualified as a solicitor in 2008. She has obtained full STEP membership and completed the Advanced Certificate in Will Writing.

After qualifying, Marie-Claire worked for a law firm in Dorset and then moved up to Surrey in 2013 where she continued practising at a law firm in Guildford. Marie-Claire specialises in Wills, Probate, Powers of attorney and deputyships. She is an experienced solicitor who prides herself on being friendly and approachable and understands the importance of maintaining regular contact with her clients.

When not busy working, she is looking after her three young children (and trying to keep the house clean!

Lorna, who is originally from Donegal, obtained her Law Degree in 2006. Lorna trained in London and qualified as a Solicitor in 2012.

Lorna specialises in Wills, Probate, Estate Administration, Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney and has 10 years experience acting for Private Clients in these areas. Lorna has dealt with the administration of both simple and more complex estates and is known for supporting her clients through the probate process during a difficult time.

When Lorna is not busy with her three young children she enjoys running.

Luchia qualified as a solicitor in 2015, specialising in Wills, Lasting and Enduring Powers of Attorney, and Estate Administration. She holds a law degree from the University of Chester, graduating in 2010 with Upper Second-Class Honours, and subsequently completed the Legal Practice Course at BPP Law School with a Commendation.

With extensive experience in private client work, Luchia provides comprehensive advice on a wide range of matters including the preparation of Wills, Inheritance Tax planning, and the creation of Lasting Powers of Attorney. She also supports clients with applications for Grants of Probate, handling both straightforward and more complex estates.

Luchia is known for her approachable and empathetic manner. She takes the time to understand each client’s unique personal and financial circumstances, delivering clear, practical, and tailored advice to help them make informed decisions about their future.

Maryam Wesal

Maryam obtained her law degree in 2015 graduating with upper second-class honours from Brunel University and went on to graduate from the University of Law passing the Legal Practice Course with Distinction. She qualified as a solicitor in 2019 specialising in Wills, Lasting and Enduring Powers of Attorney and Estate Administration.

Maryam provides a wide range of advice to clients in relation to the preparation of Wills, Inheritance Tax and Estate Planning, as well as Lasting Powers of Attorney. She also assists with applications for Grants of Representation for both simple and complex Estates.

Maryam takes the time to understand her clients' personal and financial circumstances, providing clear and practical advice tailored to their needs.

Duncan is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives with more than 40 years experience in private client law, most of which was spent with a highly respected West London Firm.

Duncan has extensive knowledge and experience in Wills, Estate planning, Powers of Attorney and Probate and Estate Administration. He provides clients with an excellent service in a friendly and approachable manner and is able to explain complex legal terms in a straightforward way.

In his spare time, Duncan enjoys sports, cooking and travel.

Geoff joined Lodge Brothers Legal Services in January 2020 as a Private Client Executive having previously worked for a West London Law firm for over 12 years advising clients on matters of Probate, Enduring and Lasting Powers of Attorney, Deputyships and Wills.

Geoff is a former banking executive and moved into the legal profession in 2007 training via ILEX at Kingston College. He is an experienced member of the Lodge Brothers team and maintains that success comes from being totally client focused.

When not working, Geoff enjoys travelling, motor sport and spending time with friends and family.

Emma Wood is a Property Solicitor having worked in legal practice since 2007. Emma completed her legal qualifications whilst working full time, gaining valuable experience. She qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in October 2018 before converting to be a Solicitor in 2023.

Emma has over 12 years experience in Commercial & Residential Property dealing with a range of property transactions to include sales, purchases, remortgages, transfers of equity and new build properties. She also deals with agricultural transactions and residential and commercial development sites. Emma will bring her wealth of experience to her work for Lodge Brothers Legal Services acting for our existing probate clients in relation to Probate Property sales and transfers.

Amanda is a fully qualified Chartered Legal Executive with over 30 years of experience in residential conveyancing. She enjoys building good relationships with her clients and is known for being approachable and friendly.

Amanda has experience in all aspects of residential conveyancing and has joined the Lodge Brothers Legal Services Team to complete our range of Probate Services. As a consultant Conveyancer, Amanda can act for our existing clients in relation to probate property sales and transfers for both freehold and leasehold properties.

In her spare time, Amanda likes to walk in the open countryside and grow vegetables throughout the summer. In addition, sailing has become her new passion.
