Guidance with Compassion — One Step at a Time

Arranging a funeral can feel overwhelming, especially during a time of grief. At Lodge Brothers, we are here to guide you gently and clearly, supporting you with compassion and dignity at every stage.

Whether you are planning ahead or making arrangements following a loss, our role is to help you create a meaningful farewell — one that reflects the life, personality and wishes of your loved one.

Step 1 — Choosing the Type of Funeral

The first decision is how you would like to say goodbye. We offer a range of funeral options, including:

  • Traditional funerals

  • Cremation services

  • Direct cremations

  • Natural and eco-friendly burials

  • Religious and non-religious services

  • Celebrations of life and personalised tributes

Your funeral arranger will explain each choice and help you explore what feels right. We take the time to listen — so the service truly reflects your loved one’s life and values.

Step 2 — Planning the Service

Once the type of funeral has been chosen, we can begin shaping the service.

We will help with:

  • Choosing music and readings

  • Selecting an officiant or celebrant

  • Personal touches and tributes

  • Service location — chapel, church, graveside or elsewhere

  • Floral tributes, stationery and visual displays

  • Caring for your loved one while in our chapel

We also handle all practical arrangements, including:

  • Transport and fleet requirements

  • Coffin selection

  • Date and time of the service

  • Liaison with crematoriums or cemeteries

  • Documentation and legal paperwork

You will never be rushed. We provide time, guidance and reassurance throughout.

Step 3 — Informing Family and Friends

We can support you in sharing service details clearly and respectfully. This may include:

  • Newspaper notices

  • Online obituary or memorial pages

  • Funeral stationery and service sheets

  • Condolence messages and memory sharing

These details help people come together, offer support and remember your loved one in a meaningful way.

Step 4 — Caring for Yourself

Grief affects everyone differently. It is important to look after your emotional wellbeing as you make arrangements.

You may wish to:

  • Talk with family and friends

  • Ask for help with certain decisions

  • Speak to a counsellor or bereavement specialist

  • Visit one of our Guidance pages on grief and support

Our care does not end on the day of the funeral. We can signpost further support whenever needed.

Clear Guidance on Costs

We believe funeral costs should be transparent and easy to understand. Your arranger will talk through all options clearly, including:

  • Venue fees

  • Officiant or celebrant costs

  • Floral tributes

  • Transport and fleet

  • Optional extras and personal touches

We offer different funeral packages and payment options, and we can advise on financial support if required.

You Are Never Alone

When arranging a funeral, there may be many decisions — but you do not have to make them alone. We are here with guidance, warmth and experience, every step of the way.

If you are ready to talk — we will listen.
If you are unsure — we will guide you.
If you need support — we will take care.
