Our Pledge To Our Families
At Lodge Brothers, our pledge is simple:
We will care for your family as we would our own – with kindness, dignity and respect, every step of the way.
When you come to us, you are never just arranging a funeral. You are placing someone precious into our care. We take that responsibility seriously.
Our pledge means:
-
You will always be treated with warmth, honesty and patience.
-
You will be guided step by step, with clear explanations and time to make the decisions that feel right for you.
-
You will have access to local chapels, guidance, and support whenever you need it — day or night.
-

Who We Are Today
Lodge Brothers is one of the oldest independent funeral directors in the country, with roots dating back to 1780. We remain:
-
You will always be treated with warmth, honesty and patience.
-
You will be guided step by step, with clear explanations and time to make the decisions that feel right for you.
-
You will have access to local chapels, guidance, and support whenever you need it — day or night.
This structure means we can focus on what matters most: the families we serve, not shareholders.
Our Ethos – Care in Every Detail
Our ethos is built on four pillars:
Care
Every person is treated as an individual, with their own story, beliefs and wishes.
Respect
For the deceased, for the family, and for their choices.
Dignity
In how we look after your loved one, the vehicles we use, our chapels, and our staff.
Professionalism
Clear communication, transparent pricing, and reliable, experienced teams.
From the first phone call to the final farewell, our teams work quietly in the background to ensure that each detail reflects your wishes.
Local Chapels – Near You, When You Need Us
With over 47 chapels and branches across London, Surrey and Berkshire, help is always close by.
Our chapels are designed to be:
-
Welcoming, quiet spaces for reflection and private visits
-
Supported by dedicated local teams who know and understand the area
Visit Our Chapels page to view all locations and find your nearest Lodge Brothers branch.
Step-By-Step Guidance – One Step at a Time
We know that arranging a funeral can feel overwhelming, especially if it is the first time you have had to do it. That is why we have created a Guidance Hub that explains everything in plain language:
Each page is created to provide reassurance, not pressure.
Visit our Guidance pages to take things one step at a time, in your own time.

Our Services
All In-House, All With Care
We believe that continuity of care is essential. For that reason, Lodge Brothers provides all key services in-house, including:
This means your loved one remains under our supervision at all times, and every aspect of the funeral is managed by our own teams, working to Lodge Brothers standards.
A New Era – Employee Ownership, Same Values
In 2024, Lodge Brothers became an Employee Owned company through an Employee Ownership Trust. This followed the retirement of Beverley and Janet in 2020 and Andrew stepping down as a Director in 2023.
What this means in practice:
-
Lodge Brothers remains independent and cannot be sold to a large corporate group.
-
The people who work here — who meet and support families every day — are now active custodians of the company’s future.
-
The Lodge family’s heritage continues through Robert, Michael, Chris and Andrew, who remain Directors or Board Trustees, providing continuity and guidance.
Care is now truly in the hands of the people who deliver it.
Our Commitment – Today and Tomorrow
Whether you are planning ahead, arranging a funeral now, or simply seeking information, our commitment is the same:
-
We will listen.
-
We will guide you gently.
-
We will care for your loved one with dignity.
-
We will be here — before, during and after the funeral.
