The Lodge Family Difference – From simple farewells to traditional funerals

Our Pledge To Our Families

At Lodge Brothers, our pledge is simple:

We will care for your family as we would our own – with kindness, dignity and respect, every step of the way.

When you come to us, you are never just arranging a funeral. You are placing someone precious into our care. We take that responsibility seriously.

Our pledge means:

Our Guidance pages explain what to do when someone dies, how to arrange a funeral, and what to expect on the day, so you never feel alone or unsure.

Who We Are Today

Lodge Brothers is one of the oldest independent funeral directors in the country, with roots dating back to 1780. We remain:

This structure means we can focus on what matters most: the families we serve, not shareholders.

A New Era – Employee Ownership, Same Values

In 2024, Lodge Brothers became an Employee Owned company through an Employee Ownership Trust. This followed the retirement of Beverley and Janet in 2020 and Andrew stepping down as a Director in 2023.

What this means in practice:

  • Lodge Brothers remains independent and cannot be sold to a large corporate group.

  • The people who work here — who meet and support families every day — are now active custodians of the company’s future.

  • The Lodge family’s heritage continues through Robert, Michael, Chris and Andrew, who remain Directors or Board Trustees, providing continuity and guidance.

Care is now truly in the hands of the people who deliver it.

Our Commitment – Today and Tomorrow

Whether you are planning ahead, arranging a funeral now, or simply seeking information, our commitment is the same:

  • We will listen.

  • We will guide you gently.

  • We will care for your loved one with dignity.

  • We will be here — before, during and after the funeral.

Lodge Brothers – Trusted since 1780.
